REFLECTIONS on MY TRAVELS.
This ongoing series based on years of overseas travel from Morocco to Istanbul,India,Egypt,Vietnam and beyond.
I find inspiration everywhere, sometimes in the smallest detail. These works are my feelings, my impressions of where I have been.
From the busy and very colourful Alexandria Harbour to a piece of fabric found in the medieval bazaar of Klan al-Khalili.
Elements of topographical landscape and symbols are also incorporated into the works.Rajasthan in India is a blur of yellows, pinks, burnt oranges, warm greens, subtle indigos and deep maroon reds of the women’s sari. Architectural forms , sparse desert vegetation and a fascination with ancient civilisations is the basis of this work.
